    leather belts without buckles?

somewhere recently I saw a site with a leather belt made without a buckle, the loing end wraps around and is then tucked in to the formt and there is a sort of peg fastening.
Can any one point me in the direction of that or similar site... please!!
    thanks

Cavscout beat me to it! Still that needn't prevent me offering you a warm welcome - from yet another Southern Counties Kilt wearer! Kingston is only about an hour's drive from here!

Apparently, one can't just buy the belt.

    well...

I work with leather myself, so to be honest I wanted to see if I could make on myself!Although my leather is usually fine bookbinding stuff I;d be happy to get some and make my own..!

A vang - pronounced 'wang' is a stay(a rope, but there are no ropes called ropes on sailing vessels) which pulls the sprit - a long pole - down towards the deck on spritsail barges such as the traditional Thames sailing barge.

The sprit holds the top corner, the peak, of the four cornered spritsail up with one end, and at the other there is a collar around the mast.

A standing lift - another stay, holds the mast end of the sprit up, there is a rope to control the top of the sprit, acting in oposition to the vang, and then there is a rope and pulleys used to spread the sail, because it doesn't have a boom along the lower edge.

The vang and head rope have to be adjusted to give the best angle for the sprit when sailing at different angles to the wind, so something similar to the design of that leather 'whang' would do the job, though a bight of rope rather than the whole bitter end would probably be used to tie it off.
