    Let's talk about...belts!

    Aloha,

I was looking for a 2" wide belt to wear with a kilt. I originally wanted to make one, but now I am looking for a 2" wide snap-on belt.

Here is the belt buckle that I would like to use:

    1) does anyone know were I can get a 2" wide brown leather snap-on belt to use with the above buckle?

    Thanks.

oh, yeah...Here is a link for leather supplies that I found if you want to make a belt:

i do like the idea of you guiding your future belt maker with a site to find supplies. it just sounds funny (sorry, i'm exausted and everything is making me crack up a bit).

the web site for buckle is fantastic. great selection under celtic belts. i will have to get one.

??? yeah, those buckles are pretty cool. I like the large selection of buckles; the celtic ones are nice and are made out of pewter, the price seems good too!

A good place to look is any Western Wear Store. You can get some very nice wide leather belts suited for buckles.

    Another good source

    Hello All-

Another good source for belt blanks is good ol' Tandy Leather.

    http://www.tandyleather.com/

They are busy adding factory owned stores all over. For those in the Bay area there are several, the nearest to me is in Union City, CA. The pictures on the House of Anoria site look like the ones from the Tandy Leather catalog.....hmmmm

What a cowinkydink! Just last week I got a black belt from a Tandy store and bought the rectangular buckle to the left of yours on the website. I was planning on getting the round buckle for a brown belt as soon as he gets more belt leather.

    Cheers! Bill

I'm a big fan of the belts AmeriKilts sells. Not sure if they could be adapted for the buckles you want though.

I have an order for an Amerikilt belt in right now. I can't wait. From looking at it it looks to be a well-made belt.

I'm going to make my next belt, I believe. I haven't worked with leather in 20 years, but when I was in school I was an award-winning leather worker, taking first place in Texas twice in one show. I just have far too many hobbies already to take it up again in any form of serious manner.
