i had thought of going to chairty type shops but sadly most over this way are wise to what things are worth with all those blooming bargain hunter shows and what have ya most 2nd hand shops have folk who know the real value of items and try sell them for not much cheaper than new ,
this is the waistcoat i bought the other day nice colour and a nice fit waistcoat just wont go with the wedding party i guess http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=220374720458
Nice waistcoat.
Have you thought of asking hire shops? They may hire just just a waistcoat for pennies? Or do you know anyone with a kilt suit that is a similar size to you? I guess you are a 38 if that waistcoat fits you well?

The jacket looks "sharp"... just don't sit on anybody....
On the other hand, it won't be a problem to sit still....
ok, off to take my meds...

I also like the charcoal hose and waistcoat idea. That would look very sharp indeed.

Just a quick follow-up. Waistcoat ordered and paid for on the 21st April, arrived by carrier at 09:00 this morning 23rd April (St George's Day). They still have more clearance waistcoats at £10.00 (the buttons are worth over £5.00). Thanks again thanmuwa.

A smidgen over your £20 limit but have you seen these. Might be worth taking your jacket with you next time you're in Edinburgh and paying them a visit.
