    Military style sporran and belt

I picked up the bag and belt at a second hand shop here in Germany. They are German military issue. Not sure what the bag is for, probably ammo. The strap doesn't come off so I have to put it over my head then adjust it. It has a ton of room in it. Does it work as a sporran? My wife thinks its too large and looks purse like. What do you guys think?

I'd have to agree with the wife on that one. I like the belt though.

I agree with OFCJAX and the wife, for me its a little too far from what is popularly percieved as a sporran.

If you like it; wear it. Looks ok to me because it's different. But, it seems that if you have enough kit inside, it will be banging against your lap whenever you walk around. Have you tried wearing it full of stuff for a long period? Even if you decide to not wear it as a sporran, it looks like a cool haversack.

The belt is good, but as some have commented, the bag is too big for the purpose.

To me it appears too large for a sporran, but for picked occasions (and if it is soft enough) I might tighten it up and wear it on the hip.

Not only does it look like a purse, it doesn't match your watch strap.

Could you wear the belt with a leather sporran or would that look weird sorta like wearing black and brown leathers?
