    Mod Tos

I have been looking for a supplier of a standard MOD TOS. I have seen some on ebay but they are always sized for half grow'd people. I have a big haid at 7 3/4. I have done a bit of searching and usually I don't get anything that even comes close to the subject no matter the boolean expressions. Does any one know where I might be able to find a supplier??

Top of Soldier Bonnets hand makes the Officers/WO's pattern TOS. These come with the tartan square though dare say you could ask for one without it.

This will cost around £50 (I can't help the exchange rate)

I wear one to work and they are comfortable

Can all be ordered over the phone

With few exceptions (Tilley hats being one), no one carries hats in my size as well (sz 8). I have had 2 bonnets made for me, and that is the best way to go.

Contact a TOS maker and see if they'll do a custom.

Not trying to hijack this thread but wanted to tell this story for the Tilley hat wearers on this board.

Three years ago while sailing in the North Channel we were in Gore Bay. I was walking along the wharf wearing my Tilley and a bearded gentleman also wearing a Tilley passed in the opposite direction. As he passed he commented "nice hat". I responded " Yes, I love my Tilley". His response - " I'm Alex Tilley, I make them". We had a pleasant conversation and he endded up autographing the inside of both mine and Jude's hats.

That's a really cool story! Since Warhoover is a fellow Tilley wearer I'm sure he won't mind a little hijacking. Here's a pic of me in mine.

    Best regards,
