Modern kilt + creepers. Yay or Nay?
If any of the rabble keep up with mainstream fashion trends, you may know that right now creepers (sometimes called brothel creepers) are HOT!
Now, while I probably wouldn't try and match your average pair with a kilt (even a modern one), I came across these black, leather upper, buckled creepers and thought that they might actually work quite well with a modern kilt (think: Utilikilt or similar).
What do you think?

Not really my cup of tea. However, I might think more of wearing them with a traditionally styled kilt in a solid color. Bearing in mind this is coming from someone whom has never been accused of being remotely fashionable.

Hey, I think they look great! Do they come in brown or cordovan? I would think they'd be just the thing for a "casual but traditional" (love the buckles) look. But hey, taste is taste and some of us only have it in our mouths

They look like orthopedic shoes to me. So, no, I'd have to give them a pass. I couldn't see wearing them with a kilt (or with trousers either, but that's just me).

Actually, I like them. I've never seen them in the stores - are they comfortable?

As soon as I get over the term "brothel creepers", I'll tell you if I think they could work with a kilt.

I think it could work. I've worn everything from leather sandals to wellington boots with my kilt. Whatever's comfortable and makes sense for the weather, I say. I never realized that "creepers" had such thick soles; I always imagined from the phrase something more akin to bedroom slippers.

I think they have a definate modern look, and would work well. Especially with a all black modern kilt or maybe a leather kilt.
Thanks for the wikipedia link. I was curious as to the origin of the unusual name.

I wouldn't wear them with any of my contemporary kilts. Not a good match for the utility style kilt in my opinion. The tern fugly comes to mind.

The only thing those would go with is celibacy. Cause and effect.
