Modify A Sportcoat to a Kilt Jacket: Website is up

    http://www.geocities.com/alanhsails/...lt_jacket.html

There you go, X Marks. My thoughts and blow-by-blow directions on how I did it. If I were to do it again I'd make my jacket an inch and a half longer, but I'm not complaining!

If you try this, let us know how it goes.

Hank if you want to grab this and turn it into an article here at X-Marks, go for it.

Alan, you have achieved internet immortality! I'm actively searching for just the right jacket and your site will be invaluable (especially to help explain to my still-not-sold-on-the-kilt-thing wife).

By the way...those two people in the photo on the bottom of page two look oddly familiar...have I seen them somewhere? Some imported "Brit-Com", perhaps?

I'm impressed... and perhaps just a little bit inspired. Enough at least to consider having a jacket I already own modified by a tailor. I have it professionally done since my sewing skills are zilch-zip-zero beyond puting a button back on a shirt.

Hope the site is useful for you all.

Hey Hamish, can you chime in on exactly what an Ettrick Jacket is and how it's different from the Argyll or Braemer?

Thanks Alan! I like how the site is also very informative on how to wear the jacket.
