    Need some hose advice

    Hey Friends;

    I'm looking for advice on where best to turn for some nice chunky kilt socks; the hose I have now are perfectly fine looking and work well to their purpose, but I have come to like the brawnier, more knitted look of the chunkier varieties, maybe under headings like "popcorn", or "cable-knit", or "Arran style", I'm not sure . . ones with a decent, but not necessarily high, wool content, and won't slaughter my wallet . .
    Or maybe I should just lower my standards a little . . ?

    I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    Well, of course, being a Scots American from Northern New England, less is always better {growing up, my kids dubbed me "Frugal McDougal"}, but to be realistic, I'd like to score my chunkies for $35 or less.

    Look for Piper's hose. They seem to be what you are looking for.

    Pipers hose at scottishlion.com are $22 a pair, come in a decnet rainbow of colors, and are mostly wool (70-80% except for the pure white which are moslty acrylic---don't believe what the ad description says). Got 5 pairs and love them all.
