New Kilt Belt Embelishments

I'm adding a few new embossing patterns to the options for my kilt belts. In addition to the standard Celtic Knot design

You can now choose to incorporate one of these 3 designs between the Celtic knot, or you could simply choose to have one of these designs spaced evenly around the length of the belt.

Arrow

Circle

Square / Diamond (specify orientation)

Do you make a press or stamp that makes these? Or is this handcarved like what A-Hay does with his sporrans?

These are stamped in ...by the bare feet of maidens (not really, but would you want to know that it was my foot stamping it in

)

By the way, those are on a 3" wide belt fro size reference.

Those look really nice!

Embossing has the advantages that it consistently gives a highly uniform product and it is quickly replicated. There are some very elaborate designs that would be almost impossible to hand carve and stamp.

On the other hand, I can take most any simple line drawing and put it into leather. No elaborate engraving or casting process required for a stamp. And no minimal quantity required to return the investment cost of the stamp.

I made one belt with a celtic knot design for myself and frankly, it was boring doing the same knot over and over. It also took most of a week to do it!

Cavscout has his niche, and I have mine and we are not competing. (I'm waiting for a celtic knot belt from him right now.)

Just thought I would share the differences with you and anyone else out there who might be curious about the difference between embossing and carving. Each has it's place.
