| | | A new Kilt Shirt from the F-H.C.A.G.
My family are looking forward to a Scottish Renaisance Festival in June and the big Northern California Renaissance Fair at the end of Summer. My lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess has been hard at work making costumes for our children. When I mentioned I didn't like the "ghillie shirt" to wear with my belted plaid she she took a break to make me a new shirt. I'm not quite sure what the material is, it seems like muslin in appearance. It was all of $3 for 3 yards of it at the thrift store. We discussed cuffs and fastenings and I offered to make some antler horned buttons.
She just finished it and I would like to share her efforts with you all The shirt Cuffs Worn casually
It is very comfortable and I like the more fitted body with the full sleeves. Best of all I won't have to worry about all those silly laces of my ghillie shirt!
As always my love, thanks, and appreciation to my guiding Star!
Cheers
Jamie

Sounds interesting, and that's sweet of her.
How long is the shirt?

Wonderful work by Star as usual. That looks more "period proper" than the Ghillie style. But what do I know? My Renaissance Fair character is a Lowlander in a Highland military regiment c.1561. I wear a Great Kilt which supposedly didn't exist until some 30 years later in a color (black) that would have been nearly impossilble to come by in that time. Under my black doublet I wear a marroon Ghillie shirt.
Enjoy your new shirt, Jamie.
What Scottish Renaissance Festival are you attending in June?

Clever way to do the cuffs. That's a nice-looking shirt.

We plan on being there in Full Rig on Saturday (hopefully we will get to see Alan H. in his belted plaid)
Cheers

Jamie, the detail on the cuffs really makes that a fine shirt.
I have a couple of "peasant" type shirt that my wife--the witty wicked witch of the west --calls my "pirate shirts." I bought them years ago, probably in hippie shops. They are arguably the most confortable shirts I own.
