    OD Flashes?

So I just bought my first tartan kilt, and with it most of the accessories that go with it (still need a sporran), but now it has me thinking...

Is there any place I could pick up some flashes in Olive Drab Green to match my OD UK Original?

When I bought the grosgrain ribbon to make these black flashes, I also bought a spool of olive ribbon that closely matches my olive UK. These were so easy to make, I'm not sure why I haven't made the olive ones yet.

Standard wool bottle green flashes are in the background.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Could I pay you for a set of the OD ones? If not, do you remember where you bought the ribbon?

I bought the ribbon at a craft store, and the elastic and Velcro in the notions department of a fabric store. The bigger fabric stores will probably also carry the ribbon. Call around and ask for "olive grosgrain ribbon, 1.5" wide."

    Good luck!

Note: there are various grades of Grosgrain.
It matters less in flashes than bonnet/balmoral cockades, but the thicker stuff works better. The thin ones curl more easily (while being worn).
The stuff I like has smaller and more ridges as well as being stiffer, though I have a hard time finding it of the shelf.

Also, don't forget the woven braid ribbon, which resembles some of the other flashes I've seen.
Main thing, got the color you want and make it work.

I carry an Olive Green fabric in stock that is almost the same as that used in your UK. The only differance will be the dye batch.
I can make up and have a set of flashes in the mail to you an hour after you send me an e-mail.
