    PA crest hat badges

For those of you who have Pennsylvania tartan Kilts and would like the cap badge to match, I found that Uniform Spec has them in brass or nickel without identification numbers or anything. I just wouldn't recommend getting the ones with "Chief" on them

Could be quite a handsome cap-badge.

It's a funny coincidence. I've recently been thinking I'd like the New York seal for a cap badge.

S & S Firearms in New York caries quite a bit of original and reproduction NYS Militia/National Guard insignia, Bob, including a couple of state arms badges. One that I found is an 1858 "Kepi Device", which would be smaller than a standard Scottish badge, but might work:

It does have the two period wire attachments, but those could be removed and replaced with another fastening device.

    Just a thought...

On the subject of Hat badges. I spotted these a while back which I thought would make interesting head-dress adornment for members who may be serving or ex USMC / US Army. Also possibly suitable for those of Irish descent who want an Irish Harp with American heritage (ie. without British crown). As far as I know, these badge styles are obsolete. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
