Proper way to measure for Argyle Jacket

Hello out there in Kilted-Land,

I am looking into purchasing an Argyle jacket and need to know the proper way to measure for the size. What's the difference between, say, 48 R and 48 L ?
Any helpful hints?

The website "My Own Tuxedo" has a chart on how to measure and general information.

http://www.myowntuxedo.com/detail.aspx?ID=673 and look for the link "Help with sizing?"

They say regular is 5ft 8in to 5ft 11in and sleeve length of 33-34in and long in 5ft 11in to 6ft 2in and sleeve length of 35-36in.

The difference between R (regular), S (short) and L (long) fittings is usually just 1" in the sleeve length. So S would be 1" less than R, and L would be 1" more.

Matt,
So the measurements have only to do with the sleeves? The length of the body is the same?
