    "The Real Sgian Dubh Company"

Came across this Scottish company, which is apparently making some nice looking sgians:

    www.sgiandubh.biz

Did a quick search on the forum, and couldn't find a reference to them, so I just thought I'd mention them.

    Best regards,

    Jake

Those are very nice indeed, thanks for the link I bookmarked it.

Yup, but it's Christmas gift giving time, so that might have to wait for January of February...... But really nice looking. I like the buffalo.

They're a pretty interesting company. Socially responsible as well as providing a unique product - especially considering that you don't see a lot of Scottish crafts coming out of Nepal! They tend to be hard to get, as sgians are released in runs, and the most recent run came out a few weeks ago. If they have any in stock, it might be a worthwhile investment. Certainly sounds like a good cause.

Hey, I am like Mephistopheles, tempting kilties to buy things, that I can't buy for myself.

Those look nice. I wish the damascus was not the made in India variety, but you can't have everything I guess. There are several competent craftsmen in the UK who make blades themselves.

I highly recommend Bob and Jake Clelend from the Isle of Skye at www.knifemaker.co.uk/

There are several fine craftsmen working in this vein in the USA as well.

That said, for the money they look very nice. I'd carry one.
