    sghian dhub for my birthday

After reading all the posts I’m thoroughly confused about the sghian dhub. I have one that I got when I purchased my kilt last year, it’s really cheap and nasty I want to buy a nicer one without breaking the bank. My wife said she would get me a sghian dhub for my birthday
I have looked up some of the sites that have been mentioned in this post....
so many choices...... not enough money.
Has anyone narrowed it down to best cost and quality ? I think $50 to $60 is plenty I would like to hear from anyone with recommendations. Sorry for being so windy, but I want to do it right!

I stumbled upon this website...these look pretty nice and are not over expensive.

    Good luck!

Most of the Highland wear vendors have them available starting from $35.00 up. Try www.scottishtartans.org or www.scottishlion.com, both have a good selection.

I only wear mine in my kilt hose as a decoration so the quality of the blade is not a big deal with me.

Well, the price is right, and to my way of thinking a live blade is superior to decorative.

Rusty, what is the clan badge on your avatar? Looks like Davidson, or a sept.

The Clan Badge is Russell. There are actually two that I've come across the one pictured with the ram and the other has a hand holding a scale.

Those Fox Creek Forge sgians were posted by the maker over on Sword Forum International a little while ago, and I've been in love with them ever since. I'm going to attempt something like them when I make my day sgian.

I can attest to the quality of Sheffieild blades. My sgian has a Sheffeild.
