Heck, if you already own them, keep them both. They are each different in appearance, but by no means unique. The clan crested one looks to actually have a harp symbol on it suggesting Irish relations rather than a clan relation, although I could be wrong.

If you are going to be choosing which to buy, I would choose the metal handle, but consider spending some time in the future looking for a more classy and less plastic stone sgian. They are one of the areas of accessories where some true artistry and craftmanship can really make a lot of difference in what you end up wearing, like hose and sporrans.

Any differences in the blades? I like the look of the braided metal hilt, but the next sgian I buy I want to have a good, functional blade.

I think you should keep the clan crest one and sell me the metal handled one.

They have them at Budk with plastic stones for $9.99. Here's a link. They had more Sgian Dhus last year but clearanced some of them out for $3, $5. I picked up a bunch. They are bigger and heavier than the Sgian Dhu that I got from the Scottish Lion. I don't know if my hose would stay up with one of those in it.

I have one pretty much identical to the metal-handled one, but with a glass stone. I like it a lot. In your shoes, I'd keep that one.

I prefer the metal hilt.
Te crested one looks too cheap and tacky.
I don't like the overly plastic handle.
