    Sgian on a Skene

I’ve been sgianless for about 2 months Not a problem when the kilt hose are pushed down for an ultra casual look, but I usually like ‘em up with flashes. Some non-kilted folks have actually come up to me and asked, “Where’s your sock knife?” One was a black lady cop saying I wasn’t properly dressed. That was good for a laugh Since I’m trying to save for something else I didn’t have US$45 + shipping to lay out on 1 right now. My buddy Steve Sanders at Tennessee Sgians hooked me up for what I’d spend on a cheap bottle of wine. I particularly like the tree limb look of the handle. Nice sgian. I agree with you, I like the look of the handle. I also like the pattern on the sheath.

Dirk's handle is from a bodark tree, a.k.a. Osage Orange.

I have a length of branch from a rowan tree collected in the Highlands that's been cast too as a handle.

    Slan,

    Very nice sgian, Skene!

I've seen some of Steve's work in person and it's very nice. Now to save up the pennies and put in an order....

Not the usual, but all in all, a good, balanced design. I like it. It is giving me some ideas.
