I have been rooting around for a blackthorne. Boy they are going for a fortune. I am also looking at a sumac Shillelagh. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to check ebay I was just over there and found a few that were listed at $30-$50

Does blackthorn grow in the USA or Canada?

I dont think so Wikipedia says
Prunus spinosa (Blackthorn or Sloe) is a species of Prunus native to Europe, western Asia, and locally in northwest Africa.

I'm sorry to disagree McMurdo, but if you look carefully at that information at the link it says that this plant has been naturalized to North America and other places. From the artical, "The species is locally
naturalised
in New Zealand and eastern North America."
I don't think it matters much though, he already found his stick. Be careful with that thing, you'll put somebody's eye out, "In the land of the blind the one eyed man is King."

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Used my blackthorn yesterday at the Triad Highlond Games. Several people asked to look at it. It's been in the family since I don't know when.
