    Slip Sheath

I was out shopping today and by the time I got home the sheath of my Sgian had slipped right off the blade in my sock. Luckily there was no damage to either myself or the hose, but it's not a chance I'm willing to take again.

Does anybody have any advice on how to snug up a leather sheath so this doesn't happen?

Easy fix: Get some velcro with the sticky backing. Use a long piece of the loop side that will fit into the sheath. Should snug things up nicely.

Thanks, Bill. That should work indeed.

You could also secure a piece of the velcro on the outside of the sheath, where it will contact your hose. That way, the sheath itself will not move in the hose, and the blade will still be free.

I find that a couple of those little clear plastic/rubber adhesive backed dots that are used on the back sides of cupboard doors to keep them from knocking agin the cabinet itself work nicely for this kind of thing. Sometimes one dot on the skin side of the sheath may do it, sometimes two, and maybe another inside the sheath to keep the blade from slipping out as well. I will try to find a listing at a hardware store to post a link to what I am speaking of, if I can find them.

Can usually be found at hardware or big box general stores like Target or Walmart, maay come in various sizes, shapes and colors.
