    Socks

I was searching for historical clothing and came across these. Might make for good kilt hose.

I just got a pair. They are all cotton and quite tall. I will get a chance to wear them this weekend and will post a quick followup.

These hose are quite tall and made with elastic, so I did not need flashes to hold them up like my acrylic and wool (and blends) hose. The first thing I noticed is my legs felt a bit cool wearing these - it could have been the elastic squeezing my calves as well. The acrylic and wool feel warm as soon as I put them on, the cotton doesn't. I didn't get cold, it was just a perception.

My wife did compliment me on them though. They look nice. I plan on wearing them casually, with my UKs and other modern kilts and I ordered another pair in grey. The service was great and shipping was fast.

Just to be clear on which socks you reviewed, were they the kilt socks or the Cotton Solid / Heather Socks?

I was just looking again and thinking that the striped ones would certainly make a statement.

Sometimes, I wear striped knee socks with my UK's... They actually go pretty well with my survivals and my spartan... Another source is <http://www.sock-dreams.com>.

I've bought a lot of the socks I wear with my UK's from them. Their Military Boot Socks would go well with either a black or a green UK. The striped ones go well with pretty much any color UK. My traditionals usually get paired up with kilt hose.
