I wear a US size 9 and like the Lochcarron hose. Just today I finally received the oatmeal and lovat green pairs I ordered from the Scottish Tartan Museum back during their "snow" sale. I've also bought a pair from Burnett & Struth's with my latest kilt.

| | I’m really enjoying my House of Cheviot Argyll top hose that I got from Dunadd Trading Company. The medium size fit my size eight feet perfectly. |

For a size 8, we usually recommend a medium (M). http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/hose_lewis.htm |

I am an 8.5 and absolutely love the Hawick Hose from the House of Cheviot. I really like the Argyll Tops I got mine from a member of the forum, Redshanks here is his website. http://dunaddtradingcompany.co.uk/default.aspx
They fast became my favourite hose and close to three years later they still are. Chris is great to work with as well.

You might give W. Brewin a try for 'casual' hose. They are not the fanciest, but they have your size, and are very resonably priced, about 12 bucks with shipping. http://stores.channeladvisor.com/wbs...e/?sck=8684845

Thanks for the excellent recommendations. I think I will try several of the suggestions.
