    Sporran-Nation?

Hi guys. I've been thinking about getting a contemporary custom sporran for some time and have admired those on www.sporran-nation.co.uk for some time now. They are pricey but seem very much worth it!
The examples on the website seem great but I wonder how well they fit the individual specifications of custom work.

I was wondering if you guys have ordered or commissioned a custom sporran from this site or Jennifer Cantwell - the designer and maker of these sporrans

Interesting, novel, artistic and many are beautiful, but a bit to avant-garde for my tastes, at least at this point in my life. But I could see them being a hit with the younger crowd and those with non-traditional tastes in kilts and kiltwear.

I'll bet I'm not in their target market segment but I think they'd look really great on a younger kilt wearer.

There are actually a couple of really neat ones. The others seem to be contemporary for contemporary's sake.

I think I'd go with the "stud sporran". All one color of leather and nothing flashy. Just a slight symmetrical flap to make it stand out and some nice brass studs for some shine. Actually, the more I look at it, the more I want one. Damn you, sir! <shakes fist as credit card cringes>

They really have some interesting looking sporrans there. I like the idea of modernizing things somewhat. I know the ones I've been playfully making at home seperate from tradition a fair bit too. I think that while some things may stand the test of time unchanged, there is still nothing wrong with revamping now and again.

The "stud sporran" is the only one that catches my eye.

The only stock sporran I see that I'd consider buying for my husband would be the stud sporran, but the others do give me some ideas. Instead of the plastic buttons, using an antler button would be cool...

    hi Paul

Yes I have bought a sporren from Jennifer, a green spotty analach pattern, I am quite pleased with it, they are pricey but offer a cool alternative to the traditional.
