Sport jacket conversion?

It's made by Kinloch-Anderson but it looks more like a sport coat conversion to me. What is it?

Someone's been reading my mind again! After doing three jacket conversions and following the "conventions" (epaulettes, pointy things on the pocket flaps, "celtic" buttons) I vowed to make my next one a plain sport jacket in a color other than black. This is exactly what I had envisioned!

It's probably not a conversion. I seen pictures of Prince Charles wearing jackets very similar to that. A Crail jacket is like an Argyll (which is the jacket in the old advert you posted) without the gauntlet cuffs. It usually still has epaulettes and scalloped pocket flaps.

The seller said it wasn't a conversion when I asked her, but it's so plain compared to what you usually see being sold. As Slohairt pointed out, it doesn't have the epaulets and scalloped pocket flaps. I received the seller's answer answer after Arlen's. So, it is highly likely it isn't a conversion. Although, the seller couldn't say for certain.

I'm glad it makes you feel good, tartan hiker. It's an interesting jacket.

You mean... You can have a kilt jacket without all those things on it? You can have a plain sport jacket that is converted to fit a kilt... without epaulettes and pointy things?

Please don't give faulse hope to those of us that don't like epaulettes and the pointy pocket things... and those big cuffs...

Actually, I was trying to get a brown corduroy sport jacket with a vest converted to some kind of day wear jacket because I don't go up into theformal range and so on. So this thread does give me a tiny, tiny spark of hope for my kilt future... Maybe.

Is clothing not a uniform! If you want a jacket with out all the pointy things go for it.

Ya, but it's easy to get bogged down in the constant argueing about formal wear, black tie and white tie rules; which sword you wear to the ball. I really would be happy to never end up in those situations in the first place.

Kind of would just like to have a plain black corduroy and brown corduroy sport jacket converted and be done with it.

There is an actual Kilt-Cut Sport Coat. We can custom make them on site from almost any fabric you would like. We have done Gray, Black and Brown Tweeds, Cords, and Barathea.
