SportKilt "Kilt Hose" for Summer in the Desert
Tell you what folks, it gets HOT out here.
Working as a professional I can't wear sandals...and have "olde guy" feet anyway...don't want to visually abuse the clients any more than my corpulance already does.
Best solution has been New Balance tennis shoes - which are offered in widths for us manly widefooted men.
The big hassle has always been how to get a presentable look with kilt hose when not pulled up to the knee - which its just too hot to do.
After much experimentation I've finally wrapped my mind around accepting the look of SportKilt's "kilt hose", aka soccer sox, pushed down.
Wool kilt hose are just way too hot, and they overpower tennis shoes when pushed down. The soccer sox look better pushed down than regular crew sox or business sox (visions of business sox with Bermuda shorts -gag)...
So, that's my hot weather compromise. Pushed down soccer sox with tennis shoes. They run about $6.00 from SportKilt and there's a good range of colors. The colors are more subdued to go with kilts than the colors I've seen for team wear in sporting goods stores. And, that SportKilt price is a good one, even with shipping.
Quality has been good. Have had a bunch for two years now and no problem with any of them. Just ordered eight more pair in assorted colors.
No, don't think I'm a sock addict too yet. Just work long hours and like to change to a fresh pair of sox when I come home for lunch so I buy them two pair at a time.

Hey Ron, are their socks made of cotton, or are they synthetic? I found a cheap source for HW soccer socks on Amazon, but I have to put on some cotton crew socks first, and then keep them tight while I scrunch the soccer socks over that; they're made of hi-bulk acrylic and stretch nylon, and I sweat under them something fierce.

Sorry I
No clue what the content is...seems like a bunch of cotton with that elastic they use in sox...feels cottony to me.
