Summer time socks and shoes
I should start by saying that I currently only own 2 UK's. I have an original green and a tan workmen.
What do you guys sport in the summertime. I got the masculine sock/boot thing covered for wintertime. However, I am still not sure how to rock the summertime and not embarrass my kilted brethren. I am just not a sandle guy. I feel too...casual. I like the security of having my footwear really on me. I don't like flip slops and I don't like wrap around sandles.
Am I just being difficult or does anyone else have to same problem? What kind of footwear do you use and what kind of socks do you use? Again, this is just everyday casual wear and I am running around the city a lot. Are sneakers and socks too "juvenile"? I'm in my mid 20's.

Pair of airy Mocs or Boat Shoes with some breathable non-white cotton kilt hose should work.

Sneakers and Socks are not juvenile at all and you are only 20 something.
I wear my Salomon Amphibian shoes in the summer all the time. They are comfortable to wear and they look like shoes. You don't have to wear socks with these shoes.

I also spend lots of time wearing regular ankle boots and socks.

I go around bare legged and bare footed when I can. If not I wear flip flops. At games I'll wear hose and shoes but don't be suprised if you ever meet me walking about in flip flops if it's hot out LOL. Wear what your comfortable in m8. when it's hot nobody is gonna care what your feet look like.

I have worn sandals with my pleated canvas, man skirt, but never with a tartan kilt.
I have a pair of tweed Castro shoes that have the same bottom as a sneaker, but a tweed fabric top part. They are slip ons and make a nice walking shoe, but also are very breathable just like wool. I wear hose with those shoes.
I haven't decided if wool socks are cooler or better for the heat than cotton.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

When casually dressed in the summer I wear my hikers with plain crew socks scrunched down, less hot than kilt hose.
