Trad/Modern Day Sporran

I was recently very lucky to purchase the above sporran from Sporran Nation in Inverness. I don't intend this to be an advert but I wanted to draw this particular sporran to peoples attention.

When wearing it I've receieved alot of praise for it from a) people who know nothing of kilts b) people who appreciate new kilt developments c) good old traditionalists.

I think this is due to how the design looks traditional and modern at the same time. It has very clean lines and a strong focal point in the buckle that lends it a very fresh look whilst at the same time is restrained and very well made (hand made). It's simplicity actually helps it to look rustic too!

(I may also add the company has many other designs and their service was incredible - even bringing me the finsihed sporran as I was catching a connection through Inverness rail station!)

It is now my firm opinion that this is one of the best designs of day sporran there is. A big statement to make I know. Any one else feel similarly or have other day sporrans they feel are just as good?

That is indeed a very nice looking sporran. As you said, it seems to be a nice twist on a traditional sporran. It doesn't look out of place, yet it is definitely different -- in a good way. Congrats!

I haven't seen one, though I'd be very confident that the company would be able to reverse the design. (I do think that you may not even need that as I am right handed though find it just as easy to open with either hand).

I does look nice, I'd rather see it with an all leather sporran strap, but that is a pet peeve of mine. It really is a nice looking sporran. As for my favourite sporran for day wear, I'd have to say the Ferguson Britt sporrans are unique in an altogether different way, and I absolutely love mine. However the other I'd have to mention is my Freelander Sporran, it is wonderful and is large enough that I can carry everything I need with room to spare.

Very nice looking sporran. Not sure what makes it right handed vs left handed though, but being mainly left handed myself, I spend a lot of time living in confusion.

That is pretty cool looking. Like McMurdo said, an all leather strap would look best.

I think it's a great design to bring a little "rock-n-roll" into a kilt outfit. I don't wear that much "bling" in any of my clothing so it's not something I would wear but it would definitely get a compliment from me.
