    Trying out an Inverness Cape

I bought this a while ago but not had a chance to try it.
Today we did a 11km hike in the Highlands, it was quite cold with light rain, so, out came the caped crusader!!

It worked well, while the material is not as good as my Gortex wet weather coat, yet this did at least cover the kilt well and was comfortable to wear.

I really wish there was somewhere close to hear to go for a hike. It's just brown and flat as the eye can see...

Those are great aren't they? I bought mine around new years wasn't sure how much I would use it. It has been raining here for over a month (I'm about to build an ark!) I wear my cape everywhere now, kilted or not.

Love the boardwalk. That looks like a great place to go walking, even in the rain.

I bought one of those at Geoffrey( Tailor) in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago and love it. We had a few days after that where the rain was just teeming down. With the cape and my new Tilley hat (recommend here as well) I didn't even need an umbrella. They are great with kilts or trousers either one.

Rain??? What's that? ...as I look at all the brown grass that is lying around. I have one of those capes for piping, and I agree, they're about as good as non-breathable rain gear gets.
