Tux tails used - Can you help?

As many of you know, my wife made two nice Prince Charlie jackets for my boys this Pascha (easter), and they look great.

Now, my eldest son is about to marry, and I cannot find a used tuxedo tail coat locally in my size, nor on ebay.

I can get it for about $140, which is still a deal, but if any of you know of a place that carries a 48S in a used tail coat for under that, I'd be very grateful for the information.

    Any leads?

Give a couple of the tuxedo rental shops a call. Most of them sell their older rental jackets and slacks. When I needed a tuxedo for a group I belong to I called one locally and purchased a tux for about 1/3 the cost of new and as far as I could tell the tux looked new. Good luck!

You might want to check out Alan's guide to doing a nice kilt jacket from an eaton jacket.

Madame, rarely will you meet a more prejudiced man nor one who tells himself he keeps his mind more open. But cannot that be because one part of our mind, that which we act with, becomes prejudiced through experience and still we keep another part completly open to observe and judge with?

I've been calling around, and cannot find a 48 S, or even a 48 R, to have my wife work on.

I'm really not interested in an Eton jacket, but thanks.

Finding a used 48 tail coat has been the challenge!

Prester John, Try this site http://www.bibntux.com Their web site has tailcoats and they say they supply next day service to any state. They are out of Florida and claim to be the largest in the USA for used rental tuxedos. Good luck again!

Just a suggestion, but I know my local amateur dramatic society usually carry a few for costumed productions and they are so rarely used they would probably 'sell' one. Could maybe try that route?! (Shame you're not closer!)
