Tyger Forge buckle and FB belt

A while back, I had a chance to work with Mark Goodwin of Tyger Forge on a wonderful belt buckle. I immediately realized that such a buckle demanded something more than a run-of-the-mill belt. I contacted Lamar Britt of Ferguson Britt Sporrans and asked him to design a simple belt that would accept this style of buckle, but would not necessitate double thicknesses of leather, secondary buckles inside the belt, or velcro. Mr. Britt has been very busy of late, toilling away at the craft of Sporran making, but has finally had time to finish the belt. I've been very anxious to wear this buckle for months, so I'm really glad to be in business.

Here's the Tyger Forge buckle (http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/tygerforge.htm), seen with Ferguson Britt belts and my prized Artificer 12MK2 Lugosi (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/members/artificer/):

Here's a closer look at the buckle and belt:

I had Lamar attach the buckle with heavy-duty snaps, so I could change the buckle between brown and black belts easily:

Many thanks again to Mark for his masterful craftsmanship and a wonderful trade.

I'd certainly reccomend Tyger Forge for anyone who fancies hand craftsmanship, as well as anyone who wants a truly unique and beautiful buckle, plaid brooch, kilt pin, etc.

EDIT: Since everyone else got a plug, the kilt is a wonderful box pleated creation by our own Matt Newsome (http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/...%20pleated.htm).

That Looks Excellent! You're one sharp dressed guy, Ryan.

I really need to get together with tyger soon. I find I don't often wear a belt, but when I do, a buckle similar to that would be the biz.

I need to commission a buckle, too, but the Mrs. has severely curtailed my spending.

    Fine work all around.

Good looking all the way around, Ryan. Is the belt elk?
He makes items, all handwrought; Combinations of metal, stone, and thought; Symbols and history that certainly ought; Be worn by any well-dressed Scot. Carol, 2009

From looking at the grain and the way it flexes, I'm willing to bet it's bridle leather.
