"Ultimate" Double Texture Inverness Raincape

Wondering if anyone's had experience with this product or products similar to it. I'm considering it because it's more within my price range than the $700+ raincapes I've seen and because I don't care to spend another Games soaked to the bone.

Our very own vmac3205 can make you a wool cape for a very reasonable price. Send her a PM and see what happens.

I guess I am missing something. I have a very fine wool cape and trust me it doesn't help at all with the rain. It only becomes heavy and smelly as it drys. So if someone has the answer I would love to know what it is. I have spent the past two weekend one wet and hot the other wet and cool with my truck bared up to my axle in mud. Thanks for AAA.

I was thinking more about staying warm than dry. For games wear, I think I'd opt for a thin, cheap plastic poncho to stay dry, rather than a cape.

Vegan Scot. I received one of these from Scotweb last Friday and I am impressed with the quality of the build. At first they are a bit stiff but with a bit a folding and scrunching the become soft and pliable. I have not had it out in a downpour yet but wore it yesterday in drizzle and it worked fine.
It has two large front pockets and allows air movement thru it as it is a waxed cotton (very similar to the Australian Driazabone coats) I am impressed by the coat and is far superior to the nylon/plastic ones of the same style and should last a lifetime.

Not sure why you're buying from a middleman. I bought one of Mr. Antony's Ultimate Raincapes direct from his website a couple years ago. A very genial guy. Was amazed shipping from Scotland arrived in about four days. http://www.misterantony.com/

The product reeks of quality craftsmanship. I love it. I've had it out in foul weather and it works great. I particularly like the loops that you can use to hold the front of the cape down by running your arms through them.

A quality product for sure - offers value. You'll get your money's worth and like the product because it works. Rain seems to just bead off mine.

I don't drum for a pipe band - but I love the drumstick pocket in the Ultimate

The red you see in the pics is from my shirt. The Ultimate raincape is all black.

I bought mine direct from Mr. Antony because I couldn't find anyone in the U.S. stocking it back then. But, as I mentioned, experienced no shipping or customs delays or surprise extra charges.

Well, that's that then. Thanks to everyone for the input and to Ron for the great pics, that first one sold me! Time to save up a (very reasonable) bit of change...
