Ultimate Hair Piece?
This is for all those who posted some months ago on the long hair thread. For some years I have had a HOPI silver hairpiece with a bear claw motif that clips onto the elastic band around my pony tail. I've always wanted a celtic piece to go with my kilts.
Some time ago I started a dialog with Michael McRae. Some of you may know him as an excellent bladesmith and maker of fine sgians dubh, dirks and broadswords, but Mike is also a jeweler. The last discussion we had was in Laurinburg at the Scotland County Games. About 10 days ago, he called for my mailing address and five days ago this arrived in the mail!!

Fit and finish are outstanding and the intertwined knot is just beautiful. Here is a couple of other photos of the finished product:

So for the long haired ones amongst us, here is the ultimate celtic accessory to go with your hair.

A beautiful piece of craftsmanship....and it makes me miss my long hair from back in the day!
I've purchased a couple sporran straps from Mike and look forward to the day I can buy one of his blades.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Very nice! My wife would like one of those, I'm sure.
Incidentally, when I saw the title of this thread, I was afraid we were going to see someone using a fur sporran as a toupee!

When I wore a pony tail (gone almost 12 years, now) I wore the Celtic knot hair ties that Duncan McLeod wore in the Highlander TV series.

Brian, Brian the silver hairpiece is indeed OK, but if you're going to wear a hairpiece it should coloured golden and let flowing as locks should be! The celtic styled trinket does look very nice and actually compliments that silver hairpiece of yours.
