Unique and Hand Crafted Kilt Accessories

As many of you know, the Scottish Tartans Museum is very proud to be able to offer some unique and high quality hand crafted items in our gift shop. It's really great to be able to work one-on-one with artisans who make their goods the old fashioned way (a few of whom are on this forum!).

Not only do we get to learn a lot about what goes into making some of these items, but we also get to help support those who take the time to learn and master these crafts by helping them find buyers for their goods. Also, we think it's pretty neat to be able to offer these unique items to our clients (both on line, and in person). It's a good deal all around.

Some of these items include our famous Ferguson Britt sporrans, the unique buckles made by Tyger Forge, our customizable Royal Cuff kilt hose, and many others. These are all included in our on-line catalog in their appropriate categories.

However, to help showcase these fine artistans and their wares, I've collected them all into one menu on our gift shop page, which I'm calling the "Artisan Collection."

You can view it here:

In a day and age when much of our Highland Dress is becoming more standardized and even some of the more expensive accessories one finds are stamped out in a factory somewhere, it is nice and refreshing to find those who still take the time to make unique art pieces by hand.

As we are able to work with more individual artists and crafters we will add them to this collection. Enjoy!
