    The Wallace Jacket

We've had folks asking about this style of jacket for quite some time, and several people on this forum have commented on recent pictures I've posted where I was wearing one....

So we are now pleased to offer, through the Scottish Tartans Museum gift shop, The Wallace jacket (called by some makers a "Ghillie jacket").

    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/wallacejacket.html

This style is very similar to an Argyle jacket, but made with three buttons rather than one. We are offering it in nine different options of Ettrick tweed, plus five colors of solid barathea worsted wool. Price will be $495, with a matching waistcoat (vest) included.

These will each be made-to-order, so allow about 8 to 12 weeks delivery time when you order.

For those that missed it, here are some pictures I've recently posted of me enjoying my Wallace jacket and waistcoat.

And worn with a different waistcoat:

What is the color of the set you have? I can't tell which it is from the choices.

    Matt,

I love that jacket. With a matching notch-lapel vest it would be really classic.

That's a keeper... may have to move ahead of some other jacket choices on the wish list!
I'm echoing HeathBar's question, too... which one of the tweeds are you wearing?

    Thumbs up

Falling in line with praise over the jacket. It looks absolutely grand.

The cloth in the jacket I am wearing is not exactly one of the available options shown. I actually provided that cloth myself to be tailored. But it is extremely similar to the "poacher" option, shown here:

The major difference is that the "poacher" tweed has a light yellow line and the cloth my jacket is in does not.

And just FYI, I'm not 100% happy with the way the colors in the Barathea wool images turned out. The blues seem to have a green tone to them and the greens seem to have a blue tone. At least on my monitor here. The navy is a true navy and the tartan green is a bottle green.

    Aye,

I'm giving some serious thought to the poacher tweed, Matt. I've admired it from afar for some time now. Maybe...

Hmm. Sandy, we could end up looking like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum if we're not careful.
