Wear on apron of kilt from sporran?

Has anyone had problems with the sporran causing "wear" on the front of a PV or wool kilt? I noticed on my PV kilt that where the Sporran hung is a little different texture now... kinda like a well worn sweater, kinda has the fuzzies! is this common? Is this caused by a cheap sporran (which I admittedly have)?

I'm kinda hesitant to wear my sporran with my new wool kilt if it's going to do the same thing!

Yes I had some on mine, it was down to a sporran that had leather twine wrapped round the edge to secure the fornt to back, it wasn't a cheap sporran just not a great design

Never had the problem with a wool kilt, but I can't speak to PV.

Same here--I have a leather sporran as well as badger and see no wear on the front of my Lochcarron kilt---just got a SWK standard and now I'll be curious to see if it wears?????

that's an easy fix. Get one of those handheld fabric shaver and run it over the apron. It breaks it back up to almost new. I had the same issue on my first PV kilt.

Something like this should be available at fabric stores or big department stores http://www.amazon.com/Remington-TCS-.../dp/B00006IV4A
