    What is this jacket anyway?

Ran across this at the thrift store today. Is this a kilt-ready jacket or just some kind of MC Hammer thing from the '80s?? It almost looks like a cross between a Matador coat and some kind of zoot suit but I don't know of any contemporary non-kilt related jacket that shape and length. With having kilt jackets on the brain so much lately I kept going back to it wondering "would this go with a kilt??" Again, I could be just blinded by my desire to top off my kilt before the Irish fest next weekend...

My girlfriend "strongly discouraged" me from buying it. Was she as right as I suspect she was?

    Just curious about others' thoughts.

Yes she was right, that does look like an 80's jacket no matter what you wear with it, it will always be an 80's jacket, I've never seen a double breasted kilt jacket.

It's certainly the right length to go with a kilt - whether or not it will look good with a kilt depends on photographs!
