I was wondering, no disrespect to Matt, but are not Badgers protected? (at least in the UK).

Well, the sporrans are made in Nova Scotia, not the UK.. Matt's Gift Shop is not in the UK... so no worries about Badgers in the UK... most of the pelts come from Texas, IIRC....
You will notice that there is no sealskin on his site - tit for tat UK!!!!!
I want to know what the backs of the sporrans look like - fur or leather??
