I say wear the badge on your Balmoral thats what the rosette is for. I think it adds quite a dash to it. I'm sure my Balmoral would not look as good without my X-Marks Badge.

I was going to ask a question about wearing something there other than a clan badge if one is not part of a recognized Scottish clan... But I think you answer the question here, McMurdo. Thank you.

Per Sara's request I split off the posts regarding the MacArthur clan badge to its own thread in the Tartans and Heraldry forum.
The thread can be found here http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/q...485/index.html
Cheers
Jamie

Thank you. | Ted, the Xmarks cap badge would be just the ticket, if you do not wish to wear a clan badge.Whilst I don't think wearing a badge in your bonnet is a must, your bonnet WILL look so much better with one.

Thanks, Jock. I have no problem with wearing something that looks a bit like a clan badge; just making sure.

They also offer a Lion Rampant and a Thistle badge.

How about the rosette? Has anyone here taken off the black rosette that comes from the factory on most Balmorals and replaced it with on made of the crest and/or tartan colors? The Thompson book says to do it, but I don't remember seeing one, maybe because I haven't looked.
