    Amazing Grace - Kilted

    http://www.amazinggracemovie.com/

Toward the end of the preview on their web site is a clip of a highland regiment (The Irish Guards Pipe Band
and / or Balmoral Pipes) playing Amazing Grace. Can you say "CHILLS"

That looks like it's going to be an incredible movie. And that song allways gives me the chills.

I saw a commercial for the movie today, I really want to check it out. Amazing Grace is one of two songs that have been on my ipod since I bought it, the other is Scotland the Brave.
I will always remember hearing it played at my grandmother's funeral, and the effect it had on us all, I was doing my best to get through the service then I lost it at the first few bars of Amazing Grace.

I've already recorded the CD soundtrack for my funeral and gave it to my wife. At the beginning of mass they are to play a traditional pipe version of Amazing Grace, then at Communion they will play a version of Amazing Grace by a group called Five Blind Boys From Alabama and then at exit it will be a much more rocking version done by The Dropkick Murphy's. It all builds up but they are all favorites of mine.
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

I can say chills, and that trailer gave 'em to me. Thanks, cav.

Like ckelly, I have my own funeral music picked out and recorded as well. If they can't do it live, it'll be "Homeword Bound" (a capella choir), "Amazing Grace" (pipes joined by organ for the big finish), and "Goin' Home" (pipes alone). Much as I love the Corps and things military, none of that for the funeral. By then, the battle will be o'er and race completed as I go to the land from whose borne no traveler returns.

But I'm in no hurry, you understand!

That movie is now on the must see list.

Each year at the Longs Peak Games in Estes Park, CO, at the tattoo the last bit before the massed bands march out Amazing Grace is played. It starts with a reading of supporters and other Celtic losses from the year. Then a lone piper at the top of the "castle" starts playin and it builds until at the end all the bands, including the USMC 29 Palms Band, is playing. VERY moving.

Tears. Every time. Amazing Grace is like Taps for me, I cannot hear it without tears starting to spring up. (Taps is to Americans what Last Post is to the British, I believe.) Played on the pipes, Amazing Grace renders me almost paralyzed with love and piety.

Looks like a very inspiring film. You're sure right about the pipes. Wiping tears away right now. Thanks.
