    Award-winning kilted genius!

    Well, this may be old news, but I did a search in Xmarks and did not find it:


    This is geneticist Professor Howard Trevor Jacobs, accepting the 2004 Descartes prize, I presume. (I found this while googling something else today.)

    ...boy....and my son turned down my offer to buy him a University of Chicago tartan kilt to wear next year....scratch one more Nobel Prize...at least the daughter wears kilts!

    A few years ago, my ex came down with some testicular infection. His physician prescribed a powerful antibiotic normally used to treat infections in the brain. Because of the physiology of the brain, ordinary antibiotics are often ineffective in treating infections that occur there. The doctor said that the tissue that makes up the testes is remarkably similar to brain tissue.

    This, I thought, explained a lot of things. :rolleyes:

    And all those years we've been told about thinking with the wrong head etc, and there is actually scientific proof? I wonder if I can use this new information to my advantage???? I can hear my excuses now. Thanks for the alibi Rex.
