I saw the cartoon in this morning's Boston Globe. One of my co-workers had also seen it and taped it to my tool bag, with the comment "You think we are that easy?" I could not stop laughing most of the day. I brought my practice chanter in from the car at lunch time and tried a few rounds of the scales on them. Told I need to pay them to listen. Then all of us were chuckling through the rest of the day.

I know of a number of pipers who'd take great offense at that cartoon.

Don't count me among them - I find it to be a humurous variation on an old joke.

I like it, very funny, we hold a Kilted golf tourny here and at the hole-in-one we have what is called "pay the piper" you can pay the piper to play as your opponents are teeing off, but they can outbid to make him stop.
