Culloden on KCTS
I just caught the end of a show on KCTS about the battle of Culloden. I think it started at 9:00 PM. It brought more than a tear to my eye actually, I had ancestors there. Anyone else catch the show?
From the lone Shieling of the misty islands,
Mountains divide us and the waste of seas.
Yet still the blood is strong, the heart is Highland,
And we in dreams behold the Hebrides.

The Battlefield Britain show on Culloden was pretty good. I stayed in Inverness, but due to time restraints, we didn't make it to Culloden. I will go next time I am there.

I drove past the site on the way to and from Dalcross Airport, Inverness, and saw the sign.
Must also have a closer look next time.

Well worth the visit. My lovely wife says Culloden stands alone in the battlefields she has visited. I am vaguely reminded of Antietam.

That is also as close as I have ever been - on the A96 when driving from Elgin to Inverness and back again. I am afraid I never thought to visit the site - what a confession!
