    Elizabeth the Golden Age

Bound to be some kilts in here somewhere. The opening scene from the trailer is of Eliean Donan castle. Ancestral home of the Clan MacKenzie and current seat of Clan MacRae. Looks like an intriguing movie as well.

It looks interesting, I remember going to see Elizabeth in theaters so I know I will go see this one.

I was less taken with Elizabeth than many of my friends. I don't know if I'll see this in theaters, or wait for it to show up in the University Library.

Is this a sequel to the original Cate Blanchett film or is it a re-release?

It is a sequel, on the official site it says:

Reprising the roles they originated in seven-time Academy Award®-nominated Elizabeth, Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush return for a gripping historical thriller laced with treachery and romance--The Golden Age. Joining them in the epic is Clive Owen as Sir Walter Raleigh, a dashing seafarer and newfound temptation for Elizabeth.

Okay...it's not enough that I think that Cate Blanchett is an incredibly attractive woman...but Cate Blanchett in armor with her long red hair blowing in the wind? Oh gee!

...and Geoffrey Rush...ANY movie with Geoffrey Rush in it is worth seeing!

At the end of the original film, Elizabeth has her hair cut off and her face painted white, determined to be the Virgin icon.

    Clearly she relented!

Hmmmm. Interesting. I may have to find a babysitter, and take my seety to see it.
