    Great Wikipedia photo

Is this somebody on X Marks?

I just looked through the Wikipedia article on kilts (it is also in the Clan Oliver article) and found this photo. This guy looks great! His outfit works really well and, in my opinion, is the best example of a kilt in the entire article. Definitely a kilt DO!

I think that is a great look, elegant but not too flashy. Just from looking at the items it looks really simple to recreate

Good-looking but overdressed for most venues in the USA IMHO.

I had to do a double take as I thought it was the German Heritage tartan (it's not). I think he's dressed and co-ordinated VERY well.

I agree this guy has a pretty well put together look. NOt to be nit picky, however, but I agree that the dress Argyll and waistcoat are a bit much for daywear except to a dressy event. I am also a little troubled by the somewhat high position of his sporran as it appears tucked under his waistcoat. Also troubled that the rear of his kilt seems to hang lower than the front aprons. And last but not least his shoes appear just a bit casual (non-scottish?) for the level of the rest of his outfit.

Sorry to come across as the critical one, as lord knows I am far from perfect in my kilted outfits. The guy seems to pull it off pretty good, though. Wish he was wearing the Balmoral---would really complete the outfit well and take some of the shadow off the kilt (that is the photographer in me speaking).

I totally disagree. Maybe he is at a dressy event and the photographer took him aside for a quick picture? I also think his sporran is at a perfectly fine height, the angle of the photo makes the back look longer, and his shoes work just fine--I never wear ghillie brogues anymore!

I would disagree; this would be very appropriate for a number of St. Andrew's/Caledonian society functions.

Besides, it's always better to be overdressed, in my opinion.

Beautiful outfit. This is only overdressing by comparison with typically underdressed Americans. He shows dignity and self-respect.
