    Groundskeeper Willie tartan

I'm toying with the idea of assembling a Groundskeeper Willie costume for Halloween. Any ideas of what tartan would be a choice based on this image?

Hmm. Alternating large blue and green blocks, separated vertically and horizontally by yellow stripes.

    Good luck.

So, apparently he wears different tartans.

Willie's own guidance for wearing the kilt: "Now the kilt was only for day-to-day wear. In battle, we donned a full-length ball gown covered in sequins. The idea was to blind your opponent with luxury."

At first glance, it kind of reminded me of Hunting Stewart. Since it's only a cartoon approximation of a tartan, that ought to work. Of course, then there's the orange based tartan in the other picture.

Something in the "Groenig" tartan might be appropriate, whatever sort of sett someone may imagine that to be. . . I'm sure that Matt (G.) would take that in the spirit in which it might be intended.

"Groundskeeper" tartan?... Quite fancifull in a cartoonish sort of way. Although "Gordon Regimental" or "Campbell of Loudoun" might give the general impression. .. an approximation so to speak.

Realize, most people don't know one predominantly "red" tartan from another. So, you could probably go with an inexpensive Royal Stewart (from Stillwater or another maker) and be just fine.

okay, I got silly and did a run around the net. This question has popped up before, but no answer. It was noted that he wore different tartans.
