    I rather enjoyed that!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Cool. I've thrown with most of those guys. Not in the same class mind you, but at the same events.

In fact, Brent is running the Flagstaff games next month where I will be competing.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

Some Guinness spilt on the barroom floor.
When the pub was closed for the night, a wee brown mouse crawled out of his hole and sat in the pale moonlight.
He lapped the foamy froth from off the floor and back on his haunches he sat,
and all night long you could hear him roar "Bring on the Goddamn cat!"

Very nice. I've never seen the ladies doing the heavy events.

The ladies competitors are every bit as competative as the guys. I have a close friend that has competed for several years and have had the pleasure of training with her some. I can tell you that while the weights they throw may be lighter, they are pound for pound as strong as the guys and probably more dedicated .
