International Scout Camp at Blair Atholl

BBC Scotland News ran a feature on the 1:30 and 6:30 news today about an international scout camp which is starting this weekend at Blair Atholl in Perthshire, Scotland, and about the difficulties in recruiting adult helpers for scouting. There were plenty of kilts in evidence, and no, it wasn't a special parade or show, the kilted gents (and a few kilted ladies) were going about their business of assembling tents in the background for the forthcoming event.

Anything that gets children to appreciate more than an X-box or Playstation has to be good. Whilst they all have their place, nothing beats getting outdoors and meeting other people. Having been there a few times, Scouting, this is good (kilted) news!!Phil
