Looks like someone wearing Ma's dress with their Johnny Rotten boots. Ugh.

PEATS! Wow.
Shocking that teenagers wouldn't want to wear traditional kilts just like the ones their grandfathers are wearing.

I'm only surprised they're not directly selling Depp's get up from the movie. Yet.

Those Hot Topic/Tripp kilts have been around a long time, and have been the subject of multiple threads, some of which have devolved into unpleasantness. (Use the search feature to find them.) May I suggest we stay on the subject of the movie in this thread?

Best regards,

Jake

Saw the movie 3-28, loved the Mad Hatter in a kilt, loved the tartan!

Did you notice that Depp's Mad Hatter kept switching back and forth between two voices/accents? A soft feminine English accent and a deeper Scottish accent. Very strange... but the character is mad, after all.

I noticed he spoke in a Scottish accent whenever he was talking about battle, rebellion, and the Queen of Hearts...

I saw it yesterday. Depp did a good job as the slightly off-kilter Hatter.
Of course, I also liked Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat and Paul Whitehouse as the March Hare (Welsh rabbit?).

Now the main question is - has anyone identified the Mad Hatter's tartan yet? Reddish-brown with blue, possibly something weathered? Anyone?

he based his accent on Rab C Nesbitt apparently he was told to view the show by his voice coach Gerry Grennell to get the scots voice for the character

I think it was the best movie Glasgow accent I've heard since Leonidas said "This is Sparta!"
