Kilt runway show
Ok, I am relativly new here, and I am sure this was posted already, but it is new to me and thought I would share it... http://www.newyorksocialdiary.com/pa...es04_09_04.php
This is a runway show in New York and was dated, 04-09-04. I thought I stood out in a crowd with my kilts, but I am such a rank amature.

What's the tartan Sir Sean is wearing? Cool the way the tartan tie forms the Saltire.

I think he usually wears one of the MacLean (of Duart?) tartans, as that was his mother's maiden name.

That is as may be but, for someone who should know better and who is an Ambassador for Scotland, he has got it all wrong on two counts! First, tartan ties should not be worn with the kilt unless it be a plain one, and second, wearing a day-wear tie (which is what a woollen tartan tie is) with an evening dress Prince Charlie is next best thing to a cardinal sin! This is not the Tartan Police speaking here (I've no idea what they would make of it). I'm speaking purely from an aesthetic point of view.
I have no objection to experimentation and the mixing and matching of clothing when the ideas work and the occasion is suitable, but Sir Sean was a Guest of Honour at that Tartan Day event in NYC - and he looks a mess!!
No. of Kilts: 102. "Title": Lord Hamish Bicknell, Laird of Lochaber / Life Member: The Scottish Tartans Authority / Life Member: The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society / Member: The Ardbeg Committee / My NEW Photo Album: Sadly, and with great regret, it seems my extensive and comprehensive album may now have been lost forever!/

I'm very surprised the Headline didn't read "Sir Sean beats the crap out of people bastardising his national dress"
Bakc to Sean's jacket though. It appears to have three buttons along the closing edge similar to a waist coat. Is this simply a variation on button placement or another type of jacket?
