    "Kilt tops traditional dress poll"

Our beloved unbifurcated, pleated garment beats out the sombrero!

Why is it I am not surprised? Actually I find it flattering.

I also learned that if you search for "kilt" on the BBC News site that a video starring our friend Hamish comes up early in the results.

It's a bit of a shame, though, that the accompanying picture shows white hose, ghillie brogues, and a kilt worn below the knee.

That's what I need, a house sized sombrero and a khaki poncho.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Thanks for the poll. Never had a doubt about the popularity of the kilt.

Interesting little article. The power of the kilt shines through. "As many as 67% voted for the kilt, with many women reckoning it looked “very attractive” on a man..." Well, we knew that already

Not wishing to dampen the spirit of this survey, but just who is Sunshine UK who commissioned the survey, I have never heard of them, and it doesnt take much to get a survey like this, one only has to stand in a shopping mall and ask 100 people.
I wouldnt put to much faith in the results. Sorry.

It said they asked two-thousand and something people.

I'm not sure why they were asking, though...

Yeah...I admit that I did notice that too...but it didn't make nearly as good of a post if you got bogged down by things like sources and biased...
But I suppose asking even a couple thousand people in Scotland for their favorite traditional garb might get you some slightly slanted results......
