Kilted Senator
This is from an article about Sen. John Campbell of Orange County, CA:
"He sings. He wears kilts. And he drinks wine. And it's really fun to see him do all three at once," says Orange County Republican Chairman Scott Baugh.
Guilty of all three, Campbell says.
He has sung second tenor for the Irvine Presbyterian Church choir for years. He has a formidable wine cellar. And for his 40th birthday, his wife gave the now 50-year-old Scot a kilt.
"I wear it probably five or six times a year to black-tie events in Orange County," Campbell said, not ruling out a sighting in the nation's capital should the occasion arise."

Maybe he'll join the few Senators and Congressmen who wear kilts on National Tartan Day.

Is he a U.S. Senator or a State Senator?
I'm glad he's promoting the kilt, but he needs to start wearing it to senate sessions, instead of only to formal events.

I am perplexed as to why he wears his kilt 5 or 6 times a year, I guess that my bias is showing and that he should wear it more often.

You could always make a donation to his campaign so that he can be a D.C. senator. ;)

I'm pondering a run for Congress in my district, and if I do it and win you can bet I'll wear a kilt daily!

Glassman, how can I get registered as an absentee voter? Not that I qualify, but maybe we can do a modern version of stuffing the ballot box electronically with all of us on XMarks!

I agree, he should wear it more often.
